Charity Wills

New year, new goal.

The new year always brings new goals. for some people it is to lose weight. For others it might be to connect with friends and family more.

New goals are a great way to get motivated to achieve the things you have always wanted.

No matter how big or small, writing a goal down has been proven to achieve your chance of achieving it dramatically.

Our goal is to donate £50,000 to charity this year.

Our mission has always been to make Will writing safer and more affordable so that everybody benefits. This year we have chosen to step that up and use our growth to not only help our users but to benefit the wider community.

Our personal belief is that if you have the capacity to do good then it is your duty to do so.

Last year saw charities hit hard. Restrictions meant that 90% of planned fundraising activities could not go ahead. And although many charities were able to adapt, there is no escaping that the most vulnerable were most effected.

Many charities rely on legacy fundraising. Charity Wills have been a huge part of their methods for many years and traditionally yield fantastic results down the line.

The problem is, these charities need the funds now.

“Charity Wills” are usually Will kits that are donated by charities in the hopes that you Will leave a donation. Or, often solicitors run “free Will” campaigns where the client pays nothing. What many do not realise is that the solicitor recieves a fee from the charity so they are not free at all.

Reliance was originally created to help people who could not afford to hire a solicitor. The purpose was to make available a professional Will at a fraction of the cost so that no longer do people have to rely on risky DIY forms or wait until their local solicitor ran a “Charity Will” campaign.

We since found that the service was being adopted by people from all walks of life.

The intuitive questionnaire and the added benefit of opting for a checking service means that this solution is not only attractive to those who would normally not have bothered but also to many who would have previously used a solicitor.

Reaching further

It is now our mission this year to extend our reach a little further.

From January the 1st 2021, we are going to donate £10 from each and every Will created through Reliance Wills to a UK charity of your choosing. that way we hope to reach our target of £50,000 by the end of the year.

You are not expected to leave a legacy to charity in your Will, however, you can if you choose.

Simply log on to the Reliance portal, enter the name and charity number of the charity you wish to benefit from your donation and complete the questionnaire.

Check your answers and then pay for the product you choose.

Every month, we will publish a report of the donations we make to which charity so that you can see the positive impact you are having. Not just on your family, but the wider community too.

Who is this service for?

Arguably, everybody over 18 should have a Will. However, it is only until you either have children or own assets that a Will becomes necessary.

A basic Will is vital for naming guardians if you have children under 18.

For deciding who manages your affairs (called an executor) or who benefits from your estate (beneficiaries) when you die.

An online Will service has many benefits. The simple questionnaire makes Reliance attractive to those who are not familiar with the legal aspect of making a Will.

Online Wills are usually very affordable, so more people have access to the services.

In fact, any person who has simple wishes would benefit from this service. A Reliance Will is quick and easy to create and can me made anywhere. As long as you have access to a printer, you can make, print and sign your Will in less than 30 mins.

Whether you are in a hurry, cannot get out much or on a budget, Reliance is for you.

Who is this not for?

Online Wills do not constitute, nor do they replace legal advice. For most people, at some point in their life, a basic Will is all they need. For many, it is not.

We firmly believe that a basic Will is not right for everybody and that one should not make a simple Will in order to save money when that comes at the cost of family or local authorities for care fees.

If you have family circumstances that may require careful consideration when making a Will, or feel you need to protect assets then we would invite you to email us first at info@relaincewills.com and we would be happy to advise.

Be part of something

Making a Will can sometimes feel daunting. Many people feel like they are “tempting fate” or that passing is a topic that is too difficult to entertain.

We prefer to believe that being prepared can actually make you feel better. Knowing you have your affairs in order gives peace of mind rather than burying your head in the sand.

Now not only can you get peace of mind knowing you have done something great for yourself and your family, but you will also be part of something bigger. Part of an effort to raise much needed funds for some of the most vulnerable in this country.

In this way, charities are not having to “buy” their donations. Or wait to recieve the legacy later down the line.

So, join us on this journey. Help us achieve our £50,000 target. Just like your goals for the new year, we can only achieve ours if those around us support us on our way.

Thank you.
